

Michael MANFREDI
NYS Supreme Court Justice
Michael has worked at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office in Syracuse, NY since September 2007. He has handled every aspect of criminal prosecution including appellate arguments, long-term investigation, and jury trials. Throughout his legal career, he has justly prosecuted all levels of offenses from homicides to minor violations. Michael has also litigated Extreme Risk Protection Orders and Habeas Corpus applications in the New York State Supreme Court.
In addition to his lengthy career in trial and litigation work, he has taken on a prominent role in training litigators with his initial promotion to head of the Municipal Courts Bureau in 2019. Currently, he holds the roles of Grand Jury Bureau Chief and the Felony Trial Bureau Chief. As the Grand Jury Chief, he instructs citizens on the function of grand jury and advises attorneys how to indict their cases. Michael reviews all indictments in the office before they are arraigned in court. The Felony Trial Bureau is composed of ten assistant district attorneys who prosecute the majority of violent felony crimes in Onondaga County. He leads this team of Assistant District Attorneys, through case assignments, trial strategy, and charging instruction. Michael also manages twelve additional members of support staff for day-to-day office operations.
In addition to these managerial responsibilities, he is the office representative for CPL 245 Compliance, the Criminal Justice Advisory Board, the Youth Justice Steering Committee, the GIVE Committee, and the Office Hiring Committee.
