

John LEMONDES
NYS State Assembly - 126th District
John was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020. He is now running for his 4th term to serve the residents of the 126th Assembly District which includes the City of Auburn and numerous towns and villages in Cayuga and Onondaga counties.
John is a native of central New York and a graduate of Liverpool High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University in Agricultural Science. Upon graduation, he became a commissioned United States Army officer. His 27-year career serving our nation included multiple overseas deployments including to Iraq and Afghanistan. He retired in 2014 at the rank of Colonel.
John holds three Master’s degrees; two from Syracuse University and the third from the Eisenhower School for National Resource Strategy. Prior to his election in 2020, he served as a Defense Program Manager and National Security consultant in the high-tech electronics industry. Today, in addition to serving in the New York State Assembly, John and his family operate a small business and farming operation.
John is a leader in the farming community. He is a former President of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of New York State and is active nationally with the American Sheep Industry Association. He is a member of the NYS Farm Bureau and a former board member of the CNY Financial Planning Association. In 2016, the Onondaga County Executive appointed John to the Board of Directors of the Onondaga County Soil & Water Conservation District
